Syracuse since 2005, along with the necropolis of Pantalica, became part of the World Heritage list, or sites that UNESCO declared World Heritage. Siracusa and the necropolis of Pantalica form a "Together", which is a unique collection, in the same space, the extraordinary testimony of the Mediterranean cultures through the ages.Their extraordinary cultural diversity, offer an exceptional testimony to the development of civilization over three millennia. Also from the Porta Marina to the Castello Maniace there is a succession of natural springs and sources, among the most important are the "Fonte of Diana" and the very popular "Fonte Aretusa".
